February 10 2010 - let's try this again without snow

Abc.com is like having the snow go right back up to the sky. Let's catch up with yesterday's show, shall we?

Patrick is happy about his latest surgery, as is Robin. What they're not happy about? The lack of sex in their marriage lately.

Johnny has been summoned by Jason. He knows what's going on. He wonders aloud why Jason hasn't killed him yet.

Luke is having free breakfast at Wyndemere when Nikolas walks in. Nik was expecting this. Luke calls him the worst possible insult he can come up with: "Cassadine".

Liz comes back to the Haunted Star for some reason. Isn't she thoroughly embarrassed about all the crazy from yesterday? She walks into the office when he doesn't answer and goes to write a note for him but finds a Valentine's flier for the Haunted Star. This makes her flash back to her rape. Ethan interrupts her flashback.

Credits: I hear they're going to change by the end of the month! Whoo hoo! And then ten characters will leave, ten more will come on and it will be out of date again.

Liz wants to know where Luke is. She wants to apologize and tells Ethan all about what happened between her, Luke and Lucky. She sounds completely pathetic and the crazy is still there. All the while, she's crumpling up the Valentine's flier. Ethan wants to know what's up. She tells him she hates Valentine's Day. You and me both, babe. But...probably for different reasons.

Nik asks Luke if he's happy to be proven right about him. He goes on and on and digs himself deeper. Luke isn't happy how this turned out because he always considered Nikolas the "good Cassadine."

Apparently Maxie and Spinelli had sex last night. Maxie wants Spinelli to move in with her. He wants to stay where he is. She thinks it has to do with Franco. He doesn't want to talk about it. She brings up, for the thousandth time the plan for Spinelli to sleep with someone else. He's already forgiven her and wants her to forgive herself. Why, Spinelli? It's just going to happen again.

Jason says if it were anyone else, they would be dead by now but since Johnny didn't give Michael up, he's safe. Wait, what? Johnny aided in getting their boss thrown in prison. He's the son of an ex-mob boss rival. And that's why he's not dead? If you say so, Jason. Jason says they're even now but he still can't believe how Johnny helped an undercover cop. Jason: "You're fired." The men have orders to not speak to him but to not hurt him either. So don't try to speak to Max, Johnny. You will get the silent treatment! Talk to the hand!

Johnny shows his respect and wants to at least give an explanation. His explanation is that he loves Olivia and even if Olivia wasn't in the picture, he thinks Claudia deserves retribution. He defends Claudia's hit on Sonny and everything she did since. He goes on for a while and it's a pretty impressive and convincing speech. He also throws out words like "Sonny is going to pay.", which...why show your hand, Johnny? Isn't the element of surprise better? Jason respects Johnny's stance but he has to stay loyal to his sugar daddy, Sonny.

Maxie and Spinelli throw around the pros and cons of Spinelli sleeping with someone else. It's kinda boring but it's also kinda sweet. They both show their insecurities. Spinelli actually comes out as pretty logical. He can't justify or get even for what she did so he has to make a choice whether to forgive her or not. He forgives her. She wants to pay for what she did and Spinelli tells her to just let it go. She finally agrees and hopefully this will be the last conversation about this whole ridiculous plot.

Ethan wants to know why Elizabeth hates V-Day. He thinks it's as trivial as being stood up for a dance. She sort of lies and says it is. She doesn't think she can get through the day without Lucky. And then she flashbacks again. This isn't the first Valentine's day she's spent without Lucky but all of a sudden it's relevant because Jonathan Jackson is back and they can actually show the flashbacks.

Patrick gets snippy with a lab attendant on the phone. Lisa tiredly brings up another college reference. She jokes that 'he didn't get any' last night. Patrick defends the situation by saying they work a lot, young daughter, no free time...etc. Lisa thinks that's no excuse to get snippy with the staff and says she should bring up the situation with Robin. Just the cue for Robin to walk in and hear the last few words.

Luke wishes he could just write Nikolas off but he's sick of getting rid of the Cassadines and also he's related to Laura, Lulu and Lucky. Luke just wants them to stay out of each others way.

Johnny brought Olivia some coffee. She informs him that Dante is doing OK but is still not talking to her. She doesn't mind as long as he survives. They have a lot to talk about but he mainly just wants to tell her that he "betrayed Sonny Corinthos and lived". It is a remarkable achievement, Johnny, but how long will it last?

Jason is on the phone with Bernie. He needs to change things around because Dante knows too much. He also wants Bernie to know that Johnny is out and not to tell him anything. He should send a memo. Kristina pops by. She asks Jason for money and Jason gives it to her, no questions asked. Wow. I wish I had an Uncle Jason. She's also there because she doesn't believe Dante shot himself (No one does, Kristina) - and she wants Jason to give her one good reason why she shouldn't hate her dad. Well she came to the right place since Jason is Sonny's biggest fan. Why don't you just ask Carly over as well...and Guza.

Sam is at Kelly's and runs into Elizabeth who's waiting for an order. Liz: Awkward! Sam's pretty cool about it but Liz keeps digging herself into a hole of crazy by rambling on about what she did. Sam is willing to let it go but Liz keeps digging! She wants to know how Sam got Jason to forgive her for sleeping with Ric. Seriously, Liz?

Sam doesn't want to talk about it. Liz...oh gosh...it's just so pathetic. She seems to sincerely admire the way Sam has gotten away with shit. Sam finally treats Elizabeth like a mental patient and explains how she had to just grow up and get some self-respect. Liz: "How nice for you." She walks away. Liz, Laura has left a nice empty chair at the mental hospital just for you. I hope she gets really crazy and develops another personality or something.

Olivia is happy that Johnny's alive. That's nice. Johnny's glad too. He's alive and out of the business and free. Olivia thinks it's great but Johnny doesn't think he's safe.

Jason thinks Sonny is a good man. Kristina doesn't see it. Jason says meaningless words like "mistake" and "code" and it's reaching but Jason sincerely believes it. Kristina argues. Did Jason just use the "Sonny was poor" excuse? Oh no he didn't! So poverty now excuses crime in Jason's world. I...don't have the words to express how sick I am about that statement. And now Sonny is beyond rich, so what's his excuse now? Kristina brings up the fact that his crimes hurt other people. Jason says he's paying. Kristina's all....umm, douche wasn't the one who was in a coma for a year. Jason, "But he gladly would be for you and Morgan and Michael and mother Theresa!" Again...what? Kristina's not convinced and neither am I and this is not a scene about Kristina struggling to find the goodness in her dad. This is a scene about the writers justifying Sonny's horrible behavior because they've dug themselves in this hole where Sonny is the mobster with a heart of gold and can do no wrong but that gets boring until Sonny does something wrong. And it's boring if they make him go straight. So they have to keep justifying everything he does like republicans do about George Bush. Some people can't admit that Bush has made tons of mistakes because they'd be admitting that they made a mistake and you can't do that. So idiots like Sarah Palin get praise because you have to support your party. And that's what Sonny is. He's George Bush and Sarah Palin and the powers that be are his supporters.

Sam comes to Jason's and sees Kristina. Kristina is beginning to understand who her dad really is.

Nik has summoned Ethan to Wyndemere. Nik is drinking and wants all the Spencers to take a crack at him. Ethan claims he doesn't want to get involved but then he does. He says that Elizabeth is a wreck. He even mentions that Liz's suspension is without pay. Really? Nikolas tells Ethan about the rape.

Lisa informs Robin that Patrick is acting like a bitch with the staff. She wants Robin to help. Liz shows up to stares. She immediately gets defensive. She thinks it's unfair but Patrick thinks maybe it's for the best. Robin thinks maybe she should go on vacation and she and Patrick offer to help out with money. Liz just wants them to put in a good word with the board and get her job back.

Patrick wonders why Liz can't go to Steven. They think if she comes back too soon, then the hospital will let her go for good. Liz is pissed that they won't help even though they are and she walks away. Robin wants to go after her but Patrick thinks she needs to work through this on her own like Robin did with her brand of crazy. Robin thinks she only got through it because of Patrick. They get all flirty.

Kristina orders a coffee to go when Keifer walks in. She's still pissed because Keifer hit her. The nerve! Ethan interrupts another almost-altercation and walks her out.

Jason goes over his Kristina conversation with Sam. Sam praises Jason because that's her purpose on this show. Knock at the door: it's Maxie. She tells them that he and Spinelli are back on track. She brings up buying a sauna and wants Jason to write her a blank check. What is he, an ATM today? Jason leaves Sam to deal with it. Does Sam get paid for this?

Johnny is glad to be free but Olivia thinks he sounds reckless. He's on this weird high. They love each other. Yay. He wants her to stand by him. He says he wants her to accept what he's about to do next which he doesn't reveal just now.

Patrick wants Lisa to put him in a good mood by covering for him and Robin. Robin comes by and Patrick drags her to the supply closet.

Johnny comes to see his dad in jail. Johnny wants to take over and run the Zacchara organization himself.

It's Helena!!!!!!!!!! Nikolas isn't happy to see her but I am! She, of course, has heard the gossip because she reads these recaps. She wants to help!

Liz sees two guys at Kellys and imagines them calling her names. She backs out and cries into Jason's arms. I'm actually really loving how crazy Liz is getting and I hope they continue on the same path.
