February 11 2010

So I got laid off today. I was sad for a few minutes and then I got over it. It kinda sucks but I know I'll find another job. Maybe I'll actually like this one. Or maybe someone will see my blog and love it so much that they'll pay me for it. Or maybe someone from the ABC writing staff will get me a job writing for General Hospital. Or maybe a producer will see me and want me to act on General Hospital. One can dream, right? :-)

But this blog isn't about me; It's about General Hospital. So let's see what those crazy denizens of Port Charles are up to, shall we?

We start at Wyndemere with Nikolas calling his grandmother predictable. It's been valentine's day since yesterday and will probably be until next week. He thinks she's there on purpose because of Nikolas' current predicament. But she's there to celebrate.

Jason comforts Elizabeth in his arms outside of Kelly's. She rants about being a bad person but Jason says she's just going through a bad time. Lucky walks by and is all, "You gotta love the timing." My sentiments exactly, Lucky.

The Zacchara boys are in the prison visiting room. It's a private room that we've seen before. The lights are dim for some reason and I think it's just because it's pretty much the same set as the PCPD interrogation room. Cause seriously, why so dark? Is there an electricity shortage in this prison? Anthony appreciates the irony of Johnny's decision to take over the business. It's like a black fly in your Chardonnay. He rambles on about how there are no roses in prison and what? Exactly. Elizabeth will be joining you momentarily. If you want roses, Anthony, I'm sure there are plenty of tattooed ones on your fellow prisoners. Just visit the showers during peak time. Johnny infers from this that Anthony doesn't want him to take over anymore. Anthony just thinks it may be too late.

Dante's hospital room: Dante wakes up to see Sonny. He wants Sonny to leave but Sonny wants to tell him how he became a mobster. And here come the violins.

Credits

Sonny rehashes his story about how he grew up. All about Mike's gambling, Trevor Lansing and Ric. He tells Dante about Deke, the cop step-dad who beat him. He flashbacks to Deke who is played by an awful actor uttering the worst cliched abusive step-dad lingo while Sonny narrates.

Johnny wants to run the old territory and take over the Corinthos organization and humiliate Sonny because of Claudia. Lofty goals, Johnny. Anthony talks trash about Claudia because he hates all women. Anthony says he'll back Johnny 100 per cent. Johnny thinks Sonny could run the organization from prison but he wants to make sure that doesn't happen. They both agree that this is going to be a difficult. uphill battle but Johnny is confident that he can do it.

Helena waxes on about how being a Cassadine is special and noble and that the Spencers are merely peasants who don't know what that's like. Maybe Helena can adopt me and leave me her fortune. She praises his power, ambition and ruthlessness. She wants him to embrace in what he is. Nikolas snarks that she'll show him the way.

Lucky gets in some digs about Liz being "quite the rebound girl" and goes on for a bit when Jason cuts hiim off and tells him that's uncalled for. Lucky speaks directly to Jason about what a horrible person Liz is. Liz finally realizes how hurt Lucky is but has never known him to be so cruel. She walks off. Jason thinks she's right and is worried that the "Lucky [he] knows" is disappearing.

Robin wants to schedule the sex but Patrick drags her into the supply closet. Lisa sees them go in and gets an evil smile. Robin and Patrick make-out.

Jason is chiding Lucky saying that it's not like him to disrespect women. Lucky thinks it's ironic that Jason is lecturing him on morals. Jason says he's done things he's not proud of and he has to take responsibility for it. When? No, seriously when? He warns Lucky not to fall into that trap. Lucky remembers the way Jason was after his accident: the blank slate with no emotion. He thinks Jason should have stayed that way. He wants to feel that way.

Diane thought she was going to see Sonny but it was Carly who called her over. Diane says she can't talk about Sonny's case but Carly talks about it anyway. Carly says she wants to take care of things. Because Carly is Sonny's wife. Oh wait. No she isn't. She explains why she wants to help. Diane gets it, but I really don't. Sonny has his wife Jason for that. Diane lists the myriad reasons why she helps Sonny which includes meeting Max. I'm disappointed that an intelligent woman such as Diane misused the word 'myriad' adding the word 'of' before it. Wikipedia, however, tells me that both uses are correct. So, I am very sorry, Diane. Diane thinks Sonny should get out of the country.

Sonny goes on about his rotten childhood. Maybe Sonny can get me a job as an enforcer. He talks about the Cerillos and Olivia. He talks about Olivia's hatred of the business he was pursuing resulting in their break-up. He says she went away and came back pregnant but never thought that the child could be his. The only reason he knows now is because Port Charles is the magical city where secrets come out.

Elizabeth brings her kids home. The doorbell rings shortly after and Cameron runs to the door hoping it's Daddy. Which Daddy? Zander, you're real daddy, is dead. Ric was married to your mom for a while...but he's gone. I guess he means Lucky. But no! It's Helena! She's there to thank Elizabeth!

Jason arrives home and he's in a mood! Sam is also in a mood because Maxie has been there for a half hour talking about a sauna. I don't know where this sauna is going. Does Jason really have that much space? Anyway, Sam's problems don't matter so Jason talks about his interaction with Liz and Lucky. He's scared for Lucky because Lucky's been completely cold and he blames himself for part of it.

Morgan and Molly are at Kelly's looking at some website deducing that Sonny is going to go to prison for a long time. No, he won't. Hey, maybe I can get a job at Kelly's. They're worried about Michael too. Molly talks like a little lawyer when Michael walks in. Morgan lies that Molly is helping him with his homework but when Michael pushes, Morgan reveals that they're discussing the case. Michael thinks it's unfair that Sonny is taking the rap for what he did. What kills me about this scene is that they're trying to be all secretive but they're talking in loud voices and not using euphemisms. For example, Michael announced "I killed Claudia!" so that everyone can hear instead of being aware of being in a public place and disguising it as "I did it."; something generic that no one will understand if they overhear.

Sonny's at the part of his childhood where he tried to kill Deke, resulting in Adele kicking him out. Sonny doesn't blame her which surprises Dante. He said that's when he started working for Joe Scully. He talks about Deke's death resulting in his loyalty to Joe Scully. Dante feels sorry for the boy Sonny was but doesn't think it excuses anything. I hope Dante sticks to this way of thinking.

Elizabeth comes back from bringing the boys upstairs. Helena leaves a trinket as a 'thank you' for pushing Nikolas into becoming a "true Cassadine". It's like a golden candy dish or something. Ethan comes in to hear Liz screaming at Helena to get out. Helena leaves but not before joking that if Liz needs a lifetime supply of anti-depressants, the Cassadines own many pharmaceutical companies. Hee! Awesome. Oh, Helena, I have missed you. I had a Helena quote in the signature of my e-mail for ages: "They don't keep people like us in hell, dear, we'd end up running the place". Hee! Ethan ushers her out.

Jason tells Sam about how much he loves and appreciates her. She feels the same way and takes this as her opportunity to get a sauna. Jason doesn't get the idea of a sauna but Sam describes it all sexy-like. That's enough for Jason! He takes her upstairs.

Sonny comes home to see Diane and Carly talking. Carly tells him they're discussing his case but Sonny isn't in the mood. Because he got DENIED. D-E-N-I-E-D! He tells her about his talk with Dante and she thinks that he can work on his relationship with his son later. Diane agrees and tell Sonny the plan needs to be for him to plead 'not guilty.' Stubborn Sonny says no way.

Lulu stops by the room with some sweats and shirts for Dante. He tells her about what Sonny told him. He can't understand how a mother could side with an abuser over her own son citing his own mom as an example. Lulu tentatively asks if this changes things. Rayner interrupts them to warn Dante that he'd better start telling the truth or turn in his badge. DUN! Looks like I'm not the only one losing my job today!

Robin and Patrick are undressing each other while Lisa returns to the nurse's station to hatch her evil plan. She sends Epiphany to the supply closet to get an IV drip. When Epiphany AKA Sassy Black Nurse gets to the closet, she yells at them. Sassily. Patrick asks her to close the door. Hee.

Rayner tells Lulu to leave and Lulu steals some of that Epiphany sass telling Rayner to leave. Dante tells Rayner the same lie he told Lucky. Rayner informs him that internal affairs is investigating and regardless, he's suspended.

Diane argues that she can get Sonny out of this if he pleads 'not guilty'. Stubborn Sonny wants to be convicted so that they can protect Michael. Carly and Diane team up to try to convince Sonny. But Sonny. Has. Spoken.

Helena is back at Wyndemere just in time for 'high tea'! He wants to know what she meant earlier by 'acting in tandem as a family' She has nothing against Spencer, but she wants him to conceive the "true Cassadine heir'. I keep quoting Helena instead of recapping because she's just so awesome.

Ethan stalks Lucky at Jake's, though he insists he's not stalking. He tells Lucky about his encounters with Elizabeth. Lucky thinks that Liz made her choices and should live with them. Amen, Brother.

There's a weird quick shot of Elizabeth's house accompanied by ominous music. The door is open and a wind machine is blowing leaves and water inside the dark living room.

Morgan is banging on Jason's door. Jason and Sam race down putting their clothes on. Morgan is with Molly. They're worried that Michael is going to confess to the police.

Michael is at the interrogation room telling Mac that he killed Claudia. DUN!
