January 28 2010

So again, sorry about yesterday. Here we go.

Lucky is shooting his gun randomly in the woods. No, that's not a euphemism. Luke comes up behind him (Great way to get shot, Luke) and wonders who he's metaphorically aiming for.

GH: Epiphany gives some files to Monica! Elizabeth comes back to her first day of work and is aware of everyone staring at her. It's all in slo-mo and we can hear her heartbeat.

Carly schools Lulu on the art and perils of being with a mobster. The gist of the conversation is 'the heart wants what it wants' with no worry at all to who your love may kill. Excellent advice, Carly.

Johnny thinks Olivia is a stupid bitch for ruining what Dante has been working on for a year. She insists she's trying to save Dante's life and it has nothing to do with Sonny. Sure, Olivia. You could have done that a year ago.

jason lies to Dominic/Dante that he's looking for something that has nothing at all to do with Dante! Sonny walks in and wonders if he missed a meeting.

Credits.

Luke tries to be a dad by telling Lucky that if he wants someone dead, he'll do it because it'll be easier for him to go on the run and he wants to save his son from all of this. Lucky has no intentions of killing anyone - he's just trying to figure out how to live his life.

More slo-mo action at GH with everyone staring at Elizabeth. Or at least that's what she thinks. Monica and Epiphany express concern but Liz snaps that she's fine. Nikolas stops by. Liz imagines Monica and Epiphany calling her names and then has a complete break-down by announcing her affair to everyone.

Olivia continues to justify what she's done and Johnny thinks she's just doing it to save Sonny. We all know that.

Carly wants to know if there's something more Lulu isn't telling her and she omits the whole truth by telling Carly about how Sonny wanted Dominic to take over once Sonny steps down. Carly warns that if Dominic becomes in charge, things will be more intense for Lulu. She says that every decision he makes will reflect on her.

Jason tells Sonny the same lie he told Dominic about some papers he's looking for. Sonny tells him where it is and Jason asks Dominic to deliver them. Sonny's Dominic-sized-boner tells Jason that Dominic isn't a messenger but Dominic offers to deliver the papers anyway. When he leaves, Jason asks if there's any evidence yet that Dominic is a cop.

Lucky goes on about how there's no santa claus or something like that. It's all very cliche about how innocent we used to be and how dreams always die and unicorns get shot in the head. Luke confirms it because that's the sort of cynic he is even though Laura always believed in unicorns and fairy dust and perfect families. He goes on to compliment Lucky and talks on and on like he never did when Jonathan Jackson wasn't Lucky. And it's kind of like that, isn't it? Like Lucky has really been gone for eight or nine years and there was this evil Lucky X2 sitting in his place whining and moaning and dying his hair black, dressed as a stripper cop who no one really cared about and now Jonathan Jackson is back like he's some sort of savior and Luke can finally have meaningful scenes with him and we can get down to business as usual.

Elizabeth continues to place a giant A on her nurse's uniform by talking crazy and feeling sorry for herself so everyone can watch and judge her more and then the one person who shouldn't - Nikolas - takes her away from it all.

Tracy is at the Haunted Star asking Ethan where Luke is. Ethan thinks he's with his son. They discuss how brutal being cheated on is like it never ever happens in Port Charles. I mean it's like a profession in this town. Tracy thinks Ethan is jealous that Jonathan jackson is back.

Olivia plays off her "feelings for Sonny" as something she will always have because they've been through a lot together. You got knocked up by him in High School twenty some odd years ago, you never married, you went to his town to be a brides maid to a woman you could care less about and never see anymore yet stay in the same town as the guy you got knocked up by for almost two years. Delusion, thy name is Olivia. Johnny, after way too long, finally sees it. He's done. Finally. It's too bad because I liked this couple more than I ever thought I would but TPTB had to go and make her obsessed with Sonny like too many women I will never understand. It's like the whole Burt Reynolds thing. I just don't get it. Johnny also warns Olivia that Dante is going to be pissed.

jason hasn't found any evidence and Sonny can't understand why Michael would lie since he knows how they deal with people who betray them. Jason thinks the only strong evidence is how badly Dominic messed up with Tommy Soto. Then he brings up what he found out from the maid about cleaning out the fireplace.

Nikolas wants to help Elizabeth but she's still in crazy-mode. She's practically flogging herself.

Luke comes back to find Tracy at the Haunted Star. They discuss Lucky a bit and Tracy says she wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone then "Well...maybe some people." Love you, Tracy. Luke thinks Lucky has the biggest heart in the universe. Tracy tells Luke that Ethan is being affected by all of this too.

Speaking of, Ethan sees Lucky on the docks. He wants to know what happened and Lucky tells him. Ethan sympathizes. They bond and it's sort of sweet.

Lulu surprises Dante in his room. She tells him of her talk with Carly. She jokes that she told Carly everything. They have a moment before Lulu tells him she's not going to let him push her out of his life.

Sonny and Jason speculate more about Dominic. They both agree that they like him and talk about him like he's the second coming.

It's really nice of ABC to completely spoil something major that's going to happen tomorrow with a big ol' giant exclamation point that makes me not want to watch and just wait for someone's recap. But that's my recap and I guess I have to watch. Sonny says that even if he wanted Michael in the organization, he'd choose Dominic over Michael anyway. Spinelli busts in with some news: he tells them about the evidence and the warrant in the works.

Lulu tries to convince Dominic that they should be together because she wants to "stand by [her] man" turning back the women's movement about three decades. Dominic finally agrees and they make out.

Michael isn't very patient. He comes to Jax again to find out what's going on. Jax insists it is in the works and reminds him not tell anyone. Carly and Morgan come in. She wants to work on the seating chart for the christening. She recites the list. Kate and Coleman can't make it. Carly wants Morgan in charge of keeping the Qs away from Sonny. Morgan says he'll enlist Dominic for help and since he said the magic word, Michael tells Morgan once again that he can't trust Dominic.

Tracy tells Luke that Ethan is feeling neglected. Why are you causing trouble, Tracy? I don't think Ethan's that bothered. Luke thinks Lucky is a little bitch and needs him more. He says he'll talk to Ethan.

Ethan just wants Lucky to know he'll be there for him. I think they're going to make out any moment but are interrupted by Elizabeth walking by.

Awkward! Elizabeth thinks they should talk but Lucky doesn't He leaves her alone with Ethan. She tells Ethan that she just wanted to talk to Lucky about the kids.

Jax tries to diffuse Michael by telling him they should just not talk about Dominic. Carly agrees. How about if Michael just stops talking. Morgan doesn't drop it. Michael apologizes, more or less. They change the subject to the christening.

Dominic and Lulu make out and banter and flirt. They both breathe very loudly. And...its bed time. But of course someone knocks on the door. It's Ronnie: They need to talk. Lulu leaves. Ronnie says they have the warrant for Sonny's arrest.

Spinelli says the evidence is good and will work and was obtained by an undercover cop. Jason dismisses him and he and Sonny are dejected. They both feel bad that they didn't trust Michael. Sonny is pissed! Dominic has to die! Oh no! I wonder what's going to happen tomorrow! I'm glad ABC didn't spoil it or anything. Oh wait.

Ok, let me explain something. One of my favorite moments of this show has come to have the moniker: "Clink. Boom." It was the moment where Brenda and Jax get married at the same time Lily was blown up in Sonny's car. The internet existed back then but it didn't have a million sites telling you what was going to happen. This was kept as a big surprise (for most) and it's still one of the most talked about General Hospital scenes to date. I know there are leaks and people will constantly be searching for spoilers but if I hadn't known what would happen tomorrow, the surprise would have made the scene that much greater. /End Rant.

Carly is talking to Josselyn like she understands. Jax gets a phonecall. Predictably it's Rainier who tells him about Sonny's warrant.

Lulu goes to a church and sees Olivia praying. They discuss the art of prayer and then reveal why they're there: to pray for Dominic/Dante.

Dante wants to wait until after Josselyn's christening to bust Sonny. Why? She's not his kid. Ronnie is as incredulous as I am and thinks this story line needs a freaking resolution already. Ronnie thinks it's about time Dante went back to Brooklyn because he's getting to close. Dante says that Sonny' trusts him so much that he's about to hand him over the organization. Great - that means you did your job, Dante. Welcome to being an undercover cop.

Sonny and Jason plan Dominic/Dante's murder. They agree it has to look like an accident. Jason's going to hire a sniper to shoot Dominic's tires out so he'll crash into a lake. Good plan, guys. I'm sure it'll work.

Carly is excited for the next day. Jax looks on. This baby is freaking adorable. You know how sometimes babies try to smile but they haven't quite mastered it yet and their face just looks retarded? It's that. Totally adorable.
