March 23 2010

Ethan is happy to see Luke although he snarks about his current predicament. Luke doesn't think Ethan will even get to trial.

Jason talks to Lucky about the discrepancy in Kristina's story.

Carly explains to Alexis that she was just talking to Kristina. She says that Kristina might have made a mistake. Kristina combines three sentences into one: "No, mom, it was Ethan, I swear."

Claire questions Dante. She mentions Dante's chest wound, not-so-subtly hinting that Sonny was the cause. Objection! Sustained! Judge asks Dante point blank who shot him in the chest.

We go to credits like it's a cliffhanger or something but we know what Dante will say.

Luke goes over the details of the night that Kristina was beaten with what he witnessed and says he can see how a guy can snap from all that. Ethan takes it to mean that Luke thinks he's guilty. Luke says he'll stand by Ethan whether he did it or not. Ethan insists that he didn't do it. We flashback to what happened when Ethan found Kristina as he describes it.

Carly continues to talk as Alexis hugs her sobbing daughter. Kristina runs off sobbing that it was Ethan. Alexis tells Carly to go. Carly tries to explain what she did but Alexis won't hear it. Alexis thinks Carly is protecting Ethan because he's her cousin.

Jason tells Lucky about the time discrepancy. Lucky explains the facts. He needs more reasons to why Jason thinks Kristina might be lying to investigate it further. Jason tells him "off the record" that it wasn't Alexis who drove Claudia off the road last summer and that it was Kristina.

Robin and Patrick talk about Maxie. Robin is really worried. Epiphany interrupts to tell them that Maxie finally stopped working on Crimson stuff. According to Maxie's instructions, Patrick and Robin decide to 'seize the day'.

On the stand, Dante says he shot himself. Claire still doesn't believe it and Diane objects that Claire is badgering her own witness. The judge sustains and tells Claire to 'move it along.' She asks him about how and when he found out about his parentage. He answers but she brings up the 'shot in the chest' thing again. Diane objects again. Claire explains why she's asking.

Carly says she's not protecting Ethan and that she's trying to help Kristina. Alexis tells her that calling Kristina a liar won't help her. Carly brings up Kristina lying about the car crash. Alexis defensively tells her to get out. After she leaves, Kristina comes back out and apologizes but further buries herself in lies by saying that Carly is helping Ethan because she's his cousin.

Luke can identify with Ethan's predicament. Ethan is glad that Luke believes him although he thinks he's at fault for going over to Kristina's house the night they got into an argument. Luke doesn't think that was a bad idea but he thinks breaking the restraining order was. Ethan agrees. He thinks Luke will bust him out. Luke thinks he should stay and clear his name for now but will make him disappear if things don't go as planned.

Lucky brings up Ethan violating the restraining order. Jason asks him point blank if he thinks Ethan did it. Ethan doesn't want to believe it. He says he understands why Ethan would go over. He still wants to know why Kristina would lie. Why, indeed. Lucky decides to look into it further.

Johnny is arguing with someone on the phone. He got a list of questions that the prosecution wants him to go over before being called. He reads the questions out while mocking them until he gets to a question, "During your late sister's marriage, did the defendant ever demonstrate a hostile attitude?" He gets pissed at this question and takes it out on his furniture. Olivia comes in to see him throwing stuff around. He says he was thinking about what Sonny was capable of.

More Court: Dante explains his job and how he got to know Sonny. He's asked to display the evidence he found regarding Claudia's murder. He tells about the cabin, the ashes, etc... She asks him if Sonny ever hinted to him that he killed his wife. With malice.

Patrick plans a surprise for Robin. She wants a hint. Patrick, "Meet me at the park by the gazebo." She loves that he's trying to surprise her. Lucky stops by. He wants to ask some questions about Ethan, off the record, to Patrick, Robin and Epiphany.

Johnny shows Olivia the list. They talk about Ethan and Kristina. Olivia tells him that Ethan violated his restraining order.

The judge repeats the question. Dante says no. Claire presents the hair at the cabin. Diane wants to object since it's already been established that Sonny was at the cabin. The judge let's Claire continue. She asks Claire if Dante thinks there was a witness to this murder. Sonny whispers to Diane to get Claire off this. Claire asks the question again. Dante tries to dodge answering but the judge orders Dante to answer. After several attempts, he finally says, "Michael Corinthos III".

Jax is at the cabin apologizing for Carly. He tells Alexis he'll talk to her. Alexis thinks she's been a bad mother because she can't get her daughter to talk to her. She tells Jax that Kristina has been on the pill. She hates that Kristina tries so hard not to disappoint her. Jax comforts her and it's a nice 'best friend' moment.

Epiphany says that Ethan seemed concerned. Patrick says that Ethan seemed restless. Patrick thinks Ethan did it and brought her in because he was remorseful.

Claire questions Dante further about Michael. She asks why Michael isn't there. Dante says the court couldn't locate him. Claire addresses the jury directly saying Sonny has one son who was mysteriously shot and another son that could be a potential witness who is no where to be found. Objection! Sustained! The judge fines Claire $1000. I love when judges tell juries to ignore certain statements. Like that works. Yep! It's erased from my mind! Claire is done with Dante. Diane has no questions for him but reserves the right to call him in another time. Dante leaves the courtroom in a huff. Lulu comes out to see if he's okay. Dante, "I just wrecked my brother's life".

Court is adjourned for the day but not before the judge chides council and tells the jury to disregard anything they're told to disregard. Sonny asks Diane how bad it is. Diane doesn't think it's that bad. Sonny wonders about Michael. She thinks that Michael is going to be used.

Coleman and Alice talk about the case when they're interrupted by Floyd who basically tells them to do their duty. Lisa overhears this and shames the Mayor for what he's doing. Dante and Lulu part. He wants to talk to the prosecutor.

Robin checks her computer to see what's going on with the trial. Epiphany tells her to go into the break room because it's probably on TV. Robin doesn't want to get caught by Patrick. She asks Epiphany what she thinks but Epiphany doesn't have an opinion on the matter. She tells Robin that Patrick has already signed out causing Robin to realize she's late for the surprise.

At the gazebo, Lisa finds Patrick setting up for a special date. She jokes that it's for her but than asks what the occasion is. He explains about Maxie. She tells him about jury duty.

Lucky arrives at the lake house. He asks Kristina if Alexis is at home but she's running errands. Lucky asks if she'd feel comfortable if he asked her some questions and she invites him in. Kristina thinks he's mad that she got his brother arrested but Lucky assures her that he's not. She asks him what more he wants to know. He says he just wants to help and see that her attacker is brought to justice. He says 'attacker' and not 'Ethan'. She says she just wants it to be over.

Lisa tells Patrick she can't talk about the case but she tells him that Claire is a cross between a cheerleader and a pitbull. Heh. Robin shows up.

Dante yells at Claire about bringing up Michael. She yells at him for being a lousy witness. Touche. He has this notion that it's an open and shut case except it's totally not.

Carly tells Jason that he's right about Kristina. She explains what happened with Kristina and later with Alexis. She's certain that Kristina is lying.

Lucky tries to get Kristina to talk about what happened again. She goes over every detail. When she gets to the part about being beaten, she doesn't use a name. Lucky asks, "Who...who did this to you?" Who?? Who??

Sonny slams his door open. He goes to pour himself a drink when we hear Luke at the door saying he could use a drink to.

  1. There was a lot of tape pausing and double-ewe-tee-effing for Tuesday's show.

We are not happy with the teenage abuse storyline. Not because of the subject matter or even the way they are handling it. Heaven knows the actors are doing a great job with the "writing."

There's an 800 pound gorilla on the screen. Lucky was right there minutes after Ethan brought Kristina in (why is he interrogating people at the hospital now? He was *right there*! ).

Ethan skirted the issue when Lucky first grilled him in the hospital on the night of the attack. There were no bruises on his hands! Lucky didn't even think to look. This guy's a detective, why? Nobody has thought to look. Even Ethan. He's held up his hands numerous times and not noticed. You hit someone repeatedly and your own hands get hurt unless you're wearing gloves. It's the reason Griefer was consciously putting his hands in his pockets when he met Molly at the door a couple of eps ago.

The writers must just think we're really brain dead to be able to ignore a plot hole as big as this. And Patrick thinks Ethan did this? Lucky was right there(!) when Ethan split the hospital. He saw Ethan's reaction to the whole affair.

An awful lot of people in Port Chuckles are gonna be apologizing to Ethan when this affair gets cleared up.

Where are they going with the scrubs triangle? Anywhere? Why can't they just be friends?

And I'm still not sure Johnny knows about Michael but it's nice to see those two get a little screen time finally.
